1:35 Officer of the crew of a French armored car is a resin figure by Copper State Models that adds a commanding figure to a scene of the First World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This stand-alone resin figure in 1:35 scale represents an officer, that is the figure that gives the orders in a scene. It is the commander that gives a diorama a readable story: the crew at the vehicle are dealing with something and the viewer can tell who is who. The casting has finely drawn clothing and face, which shows mainly when painted with more pronounced shading and highlights.
The figure captures an officer of the French naval infantry with an armored car during the First World War. The French Navy at that time deployed its own units on the mainland and armored cars were among their equipment. The uniform matches the period around the years 1914 to 1918, that is the same time as the whole of the rest of the Copper State Models line. The figure does not suit a scene from later conflicts, as the equipment would give it away.
Before building, wash the casting in lukewarm water with dish soap because of the remains of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a cutter or a saw and sand the surface wet, ideally with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). After the primer, with an officer figure it pays to spend time on the face and on the details of the equipment, because those are the elements a viewer looks at first. Oil paints or thinned acrylic glazes suit shading the cloth.
The figure is supplied as an unpainted resin casting. Paints, glue and a base are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
