1:35 French modern tank crew set

The crew of a modern vehicle, a 1:35 set

A group box of crew figures for contemporary French armored hardware. The designation set says that it holds more than one figure; exactly how many the manufacturer does not give, and so it is not stated here either.

What the set solves

Anyone building a scene with an armored vehicle usually needs more than one figure, one for the hatch, another beside the hull. A combined box saves assembling it from individual items and guarantees that the figures match in style, because they come from one design line. A difference in the treatment of proportions between two sources is clearly noticeable in small scales and does a scene more harm than a smaller inaccuracy in shade, so a shared origin for the figures carries weight.

Try dry before you glue

With crew figures what decides is how they work with the particular kit. Hatches, seats and hull edges differ between makers by millimeters that are spotted at once on a figure in 1:35 scale. Put every figure into its intended place dry, then, check that it does not rest against an edge anywhere, and sand the bottom down or pack it out with a plastic strip if need be. The glue comes in turn only once all the figures sit properly. It pays to think about that before the vehicle model is painted, because adjusting the seating on a finished and varnished surface is incomparably more unpleasant.
