Fuel tank caps 1:35, variant 2 - 5 pieces is a resin set of small details for the Israeli Shot Kal, Nagmashot and Nagmachon vehicles.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set from the manufacturer Elefant contains, according to the name of the product, 5 fuel tank caps in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory for a plastic model of the Israeli vehicles derived from the Centurion tank. The caps are small but prominent elements on the upper surface of the hull and in plastic they usually come out as a shallow circular impression without an operating handle and without a surrounding frame.
The upper surface of the hull is the part of a model a viewer looks at longest. When there are only flat suggested shapes on it, the whole model reads as soft, however well it is painted. Replacing a few caps with crisp castings with a raised rim changes the impression more than an hour spent on weathering. On top of that these are places with very characteristic wear: the vehicle is scuffed most around the caps while fuel is being added, so worn finish, running stains and a light metallic sheen on the rim all belong here.
Sand the original plastic detail flat, level the area with fine abrasive and try the new part dry. Separate the castings from the casting block with a sharp blade or a saw and wash them in warm water with detergent before gluing. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a toothpick. Once painted, bring out the seam around the cap with a dark wash, add fine chipping on the rim and finally suggest a metallic sheen with a dry brush.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
