An injection-molded plastic kit of the British FV214 Conqueror heavy tank in the Mk.II version in 1:35. The set combines plastic parts with photo-etched details, metal wire for the tow cables and workable individual track links. According to the instructions the suspension can be built as fixed, or as working with the help of the springs supplied, which is useful if you seat the model on the uneven terrain of a diorama.
The Conqueror was a British heavy tank of the 1950s, developed as a counterweight to the Soviet heavy tanks of the day. It was marked by a massive turret with a 120 mm gun, a separate commander's station in the rear of the turret and a high weight, which made it a slow but very powerful machine in terms of firepower. It served above all with British units in Western Europe, where it was to supplement the more numerous medium tanks. The Mk.II version differed from the earlier pattern among other things in the arrangement of the frontal armor plates, the solution of the driver's vision block and the exhaust system.
Prepare and paint the workable tracks separately from the hull, before you close up the fenders. Bend the photo-etched parts in a bending tool or between two blades and glue them with super glue. Install the suspension springs according to the instructions while the running gear is being built, as they are hard to add later. The model looks good in a single British dark green shade, but that shade needs bringing to life: lighten the upper surfaces, pick out the rivets and edges with a dry brush, put a wash into the recesses and dust the underside of the vehicle with pigments. Do not forget the marks left by the crew's boots on the fenders and the paint wear around the hatches.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
