Gate II. in 1:35 scale from Vertigo Miniatures is a scenic accessory for a diorama — a ready-made entrance item for a wall, a fence or a boundary wall.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit of a vehicle but a separate scenic item for a diorama or a vignette in 1:35 scale. The gate marked with the number II. belongs to a numbered range of gates in which every number means a different design. Check the look of the particular design on the box.
What the accessory is for
A gate gives a scene a legible story. It breaks up a long, dull wall, creates an entrance to a yard and above all decides where figures and vehicles enter the scene. The transition between outside and inside is one of the strongest compositional tools a diorama builder has, and a ready-made item saves the laborious job of building one from sections and plastic sheet. The 1:35 scale is the one most often used for dioramas, so the gate can be combined with ordinary vehicles, figures and paving of the same size.
Tips for fitting and painting
Stand the part dry and only then cut the opening in the wall or the fence to match it; doing it the other way around ends in gaps that are hard to disguise. Check that the gate stands vertical and that its bottom edge follows the terrain. Clean and degrease the surface before painting, and carefully level any flash or casting remains. Choose the glue according to the material of the part and of the groundwork; on porous materials epoxy helps, on smooth castings cyanoacrylate glue. The painting goes through a base coat, an overall tone, a dark wash in the gaps and a dry brush on the edges. Concentrate pigments and traces of damp at the foot of the gate, where dust and mud collect in reality.
Who the accessory is for
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a base. The paints, glue and any further scenic material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
