This is not a kit of a vehicle, but an accessory for the interior: color three-dimensional elements printed on decal paper, which are applied like an ordinary wet decal. Against a flat decal they have real thickness, so the instrument panel and the other internal surfaces gain both relief and a finished color at once, and that without the labor of painting small details with a brush. The maker is Quinta Studio and the set is listed for models of the GAZ M-1 car in 1:35 scale.
The GAZ M-1, nicknamed the Emka, was a Soviet car built at the Gorky car works from the middle of the 1930s. In design it grew out of a licensed American pattern that Soviet engineers reworked for local roads, that is above all by strengthening the chassis. The car served as a staff and official vehicle, and in modeling it appears mainly as an addition to scenes and dioramas of the prewar and wartime period. The interior of the car is clearly visible through the windows, so the detail pays off.
First finish the internal surfaces and spray them with a base color; the base must be smooth, degreased and sealed with gloss varnish, as on a rough matte surface the element will not seat. Cut a piece out together with its backing, soak it in lukewarm water, let the film release and move it into place with a soft brush. Press it down with a cotton bud and draw the excess water off. Do not use decal softener or setting solution at all, not even diluted — they attack the printed resin and collapse the relief of the three-dimensional elements. Once dry, even the surface out with matte varnish, and on the contrary bring the instrument glasses out with a drop of gloss varnish. Close the body up and glaze it only once everything has dried completely.
The set is supplied as an accessory and on its own does not make a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
