The 12 cm Granatwerfer 42 was a German heavy mortar based on the proven Soviet 120 mm mortar, which the Germans adopted to strengthen the fire support of the infantry. It was notable for its long range and its effective round; the crew consisted of several men handling the aiming, the loading and the supply of ammunition.
Assemble and clean up the mortar first, then the crew figures. Clean the parts of flash and glue them with cement for plastic. Spray the base coat over a primer; tone down the metal of the mortar and bring out the wear, and tint the uniforms with washes in the folds. Arrange the figures around the weapon so that the scene reads as real firing activity.
