A detail set for the German weapon carrier with the 8.8 cm Pak 43 gun in 1:35 scale from Artwox Model refines the exposed structural items of this unusual vehicle. Intended for the Dragon 6728 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set is prepared for a model of the German vehicle that carried the Pak 43 gun on an open platform. Machines like that have a great many exposed details, such as gratings, handles, sheet metal covers and controls, and that is where replacing injection-molded parts with finer ones shows most. The set is from Artwox Model.
The product is intended for the Dragon 6728 kit. That is bought separately.
The Waffenträger, literally a weapon carrier, was a concept from the end of the war: a light chassis was to carry a heavy anti-tank gun and allow a quick change of firing position. The 8.8 cm gun was among the most effective anti-tank weapons of its time and looks impressive on an open mount. Only a handful of examples reached production, so it is a subject for collectors of unusual hardware.
On an open vehicle almost everything is visible, so finish and paint the inside of the platform before you fit the completed walls. Bend the thin parts in a jig and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue in drops. Prime the metal surfaces; without that the paint peels off while the model is handled. Dusty shades and fine traces of rust will give the machine the right late-war character.
The vehicle kit itself is not part of the delivery.
