An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The box represents the German Flakpanzer IA antiaircraft vehicle together with an ammunition trailer. Besides the plastic parts the set also contains clear parts and a photo-etched fret for fine details.
The Flakpanzer I came about in 1941 by converting the light Panzer I Ausf. A tank. A 2 cm FlaK 38 antiaircraft gun was mounted on the open hull, able to accompany advancing units and protect them against low-flying aircraft. The vehicle towed a single-axle trailer (Sonderanhänger 51) with ammunition and spare barrels. Only a small number of these machines were built.
First finish the running gear and the open superstructure with the gun before you close up the hull. Use super glue and a primer on the photo-etched metal parts. For a faithful look, choose German gray or dark yellow as the base color and bring out the weathering with washes and dust and mud pigments. The trailer offers room for an effective diorama scene.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
