A set of twelve fuel drums in 1:35 scale in a rendering for German equipment of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
Fuel drums belonged to the rear of every motorized unit. Fuel was carried in them on trucks, stored at field depots and pumped into vehicles on the spot. In period photographs the drums therefore never stand alone: they lie by the doors of a workshop, roll down a ramp, form a wall along a wall or pile up at a refueling point. For a modeler they are a rewarding accessory, because by themselves they tell what is happening in the scene.
The set holds twelve drums in 1:35 scale in a rendering matching German equipment of the Second World War. Twelve pieces is a count you can work with even in a larger scene: some you lay on their sides, some you stand up and the rest you set out in smaller groups, so the scene does not come across as lined up like a depot. The drums suit vehicle models and a separate base alike, and in 1:35 scale they will bear fairly fine treatment with color.
Cut surplus material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and carefully sand off the remainder, leaving the hoops on the shell sharp. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, and choose the glue according to the material given on the packaging. Variety of color helps most of all: shade every drum differently, add rubbing on the hoops and on the edges of the ends, let rust run down from the cap and foul the bottom according to the surface the drum stands on. Turn a drum lying down with its cap upward, the way the crew would have laid it.
The set of drums is supplied. The vehicle model, a base, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
