E.T. Model 1:35 German Leopard 2 Revolution 1 Main Battle Tank is a photo-etched detail set made of thin metal for a model of the upgraded Leopard 2 tank in the Revolution version. It is an accessory for a model, not a kit.

The set holds photo-etched parts, that is parts etched out of thin sheet metal, with which a plastic model of the Leopard 2 main battle tank in the Revolution version in 1:35 scale is improved. It is neither a model nor a kit. The photo-etched parts are used where a plastic molding would look far too heavy for the scale: the cooling grilles, the flanges of the covers, the loops, the lifting eyes, the clamps and the equipment brackets. On a modern tank with modular armor there are many such small items all over the surface, and it is exactly they that decide how the model looks close up.
The Leopard 2 is a German main battle tank that became one of the most widespread Western tanks from the 1980s onwards. The version designated Revolution is an upgrade package aimed at service in low-intensity conflicts and in built-up areas. It holds modular add-on armor for the hull and the turret, strengthened protection against mines and booby-trap devices, a camera system for the crew's view out and a remote controlled weapon station on the roof. It is exactly the add-on armor modules and their mounts that form a prominent layer of detail on the model, which the photo-etched set helps to render with realistically thin parts.
Cut the parts off on a hard surface with a sharp scalpel, and never break them out. Make the folds in a photo-etch bender or between two razor blades, so that the edge is sharp. Glue them with a small amount of cyanoacrylate; on larger parts soldering helps. Degrease the metal before painting and brush on a metal primer. Modern tanks will not take exaggerated weathering, rather fine dust, slight fading of the surfaces and a discreet wash in the engraving and around the grilles.
This is an accessory set for advanced modelers. It does not hold a model or a kit, and glue and paints are not included in the package.
