An injection-molded plastic figure set in 1:35 scale from the Second World War range by Master Box. The set captures German signals troops laying a field telephone line during the fighting for Stalingrad in the summer of 1942, including a cable drum. It is meant to be assembled and painted; it is not a vehicle model but a set of figures for dioramas and display scenes.
The battle of Stalingrad was among the hardest clashes of the Second World War. The task of the signalers was to establish and hold communications on the battlefield - often at great risk while running lines across open ground. A scene of signalers with a cable drum gives a diorama action and a story.
It is an injection-molded plastic set to be assembled and painted. Separate the parts from the sprue with sharp side cutters and glue them with liquid cement for plastic applied with a brush, which draws the joints together nicely. Before painting it pays to spray a primer so that the paint holds better. The faces and uniforms stand out once painted, with light emphasis from a wash and a dry brush; an airbrush and a conventional brush both work. The figures can be used together as a scene or separately in a diorama.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
