A human figure is the quickest way to show a viewer how big a vehicle is. On its own it also decides where the eye goes on a model, so it pays to think its placing through before the glue comes into play. With a tankman, a position in the turret hatch or leaning against the side of the machine suggests itself; both at the same time give the scene a story that a vehicle on its own cannot have.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder gently; with the small items of equipment proceed carefully, as they break off easily. Then wash and degrease the surface, otherwise the paint will not hold. Apply the paint in thin layers and build the shadows and highlights gradually, so that the shape stays visible. Leave the face and the hands until last, as the whole impression of a figure rests on them. Even the finished figure out with a matte clear coat.
