Star Decals 1:35 German tanks in Italy 2. StuG III and StuH 42 offers markings for the German StuG III assault guns and StuH 42 assault howitzers deployed in Italy.
Responsibility details are not available.
These Star Decals markings in 1:35 scale are intended for the German StuG III assault guns and StuH 42 assault howitzers of the Italian campaign. The package brings decals for a finished model; there are no plastic or etched parts in it.
The StuG III was based on the chassis of the PzKpfw III tank and in the late series carried the 7.5 cm StuK 40 gun in a low armored casemate with no rotating turret. The StuH 42 had an identical hull and superstructure, but in place of the anti-tank gun a 10.5 cm howitzer, intended mainly against fortified positions and infantry. Both vehicles served with assault gun detachments, and in the broken Italian terrain their low silhouette and their ability to fire from cover suited them better than they suited tanks.
The markings of assault guns lie above all on the sides of the casemate and at the rear, that is on surfaces interrupted by welds, brackets for spare track links and tools. Level the base with a gloss varnish first, then, and seat a decal with a softening agent, so that it follows the edges. On vehicles with the coarse texture of a paste coating, allow for the surface lifting a decal, and apply it onto an area left smooth. A matte varnish at the end will unify the surface.
