1:35 Ground Palm leaves No.1

Palm leaves for the ground in 1:35 scale

The item 1:35 Ground Palm leaves No.1 is one of the RT-Diorama scenic accessories and is meant for finishing off the surface of a diorama. It is not a model of a vehicle or a figure but an accessory that comes into play once you have the base of a scene finished and are working out what to fill the open ground with. Fallen palm leaves are among the most typical details of tropical and subtropical subjects.

Why fallen leaves pay off in a diorama

Bare ground looks empty and technical in a diorama. A layer of leaves, on the other hand, gives a scene scale and natural untidiness and tells a story about time - that the place is not kept up, that nobody has passed this way for a while or that broken growth was left behind after vehicles drove through. It is exactly such small things that set a well-built scene apart from a display board with a model in the middle.

Usage tips

• Do not spread the leaves evenly - in reality they gather at obstacles, in hollows, along walls and at trunks.
• Let the ground show through in places, or you will get a continuous carpet with no depth.
• Combine them with low vegetation and grass accessories so that the transition between ground and growth is not abrupt.
• Choose the way of fixing them according to the groundwork of the scene and the make of the parts.

Who the accessory is for

• Builders of dioramas and vignettes in 1:35 scale.
• Modelers who put together tropical, island and desert scenes with palms.
• Anyone finishing off the surface of a scene and looking for one more believable detail.
