A set of workable metal (white metal) replacement tracks in 1:35 scale from Friulmodel. It is not a model but a set of cast links that replaces the original plastic or rubber tracks from a plastic kit. The set is intended for the French Hotchkiss light tank (the H35/H39 series), which served with the French army, part of the vehicles later in captured service. Wire for joining the links is usually included in the set.
You exchange the metal links for the tracks from the original kit. The benefit is a realistic sag of the tracks over the road wheels, metal weight and crisper cast detail than with plastic or rubber. The assembled tracks remain workable.
The tracks are put together link by link and joined with pins from the enclosed wire. A needle file, small pliers and a pin vise of the wire's diameter are usually enough. The links are tiny, so work patiently and watch that both tracks run correctly. Finished tracks blacken and take a patina well and will stand a wash as well as pigments. This is an accessory for more advanced modelers.
The set holds metal tracks to be assembled. Paints, glue and the model itself are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
