The set is made by the Czech brand Black Dog, which concentrates on accessories, cargo and conversions for models of ground vehicles.
The HMMWV was designed from the start as a universal chassis on which the army built a whole family of versions. Besides combat and signals forms, vehicles for running bases and airfields came about from it as well, where pulling power and mobility matter more than armor. This group includes the machines with a blade that keep the running surfaces, the access roads and the handling areas usable in winter. What is interesting is that such a vehicle mixes a military shape with a civilian-looking working body, a combination that catches the eye at once in a diorama.
A winter scene is demanding above all on surfaces. The blade tends to be polished to a shine along its edges, while the rest of the vehicle is covered with a flat layer of salt, slush and dirt. The transition between bare metal and a fouled chassis is exactly what gives a scene like that its credibility.
