A plastic kit of the Israeli off-road truck Power Wagon WM300 in the cargo version with a winch, in 1:35 scale. A vehicle of this type is a rewarding subject: it is small enough to fit even a smaller diorama, and yet it has a striking shape that will not be lost among tanks in a display case.
The Power Wagon WM300 was an American off-road vehicle with all-wheel drive, descended from the military designs of the Second World War and built for the civilian market long afterwards. The Israel Defense Forces brought it into service on a large scale and used it in many conversions, from a plain cargo truck through signals and ambulance versions to a weapons carrier. Its recognition features are the tall, almost vertical radiator grille, the massive fenders and the open cargo bed. The winch on the front of the vehicle served for recovery and was highly valued in broken country.
On a truck the chassis and the interior of the cab decide: finish and paint both before you close the bodywork up. The frame and the axles are harder to paint once assembled. Israeli vehicles are commonly painted in a single sand gray shade, which comes out best when you play it up with a lighter cast on the horizontal surfaces. For the patina a dark wash in the engraved lines and fine dust on the lower areas and the wheels suit it. A tarpaulin, a load or crates on the bed can be added from accessory sets, turning the model into a small scene.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
