1:35 Jackal 2 is an extensive Eduard photo-etched set for a model of the British Jackal 2 patrol vehicle in 1:35 scale. It adds fine metal parts to the plastic model that cannot be made in an injection mold.

A set of photo-etched parts for detailing a plastic model of the British Jackal 2 patrol vehicle in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of the vehicle but an accessory to one. Eduard is a Czech maker from Obrnice, and photo-etch is its main line of production.
Photo-etched sets for vehicles deal with the items where the scale thickness of plastic is the greatest offense: perforated plates and grilles, thin brackets, eyes, hinges, mesh and flat detail of the body and interior. On an open vehicle such as the Jackal a great deal of that is in view, because the hull has no enclosed body and the frame with its equipment is exposed from every side. The exact parts list is given in the instructions supplied with the set.
Plan ahead: most of the photo-etch has to be fitted before the hull is closed up and before the vehicle is painted. Cut the parts off with a scalpel on a hard surface, and make the bends in a bending tool, on long parts along their whole length at once. Degrease the metal before painting and spray it with a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on smooth brass. For gluing use thin cyanoacrylate in spots, and on large areas a two-part glue with a longer setting time. Mesh and grilles come out well when, after painting, they are brought out with a dark wash and a light dusting of pigment suggests the dirt of use.
The set is an accessory to a plastic model. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
