This item is not a model of a vehicle but an accessory set of the Plusmodel brand. It joins onto a kit of the German Horch off-road car listed as the Kfz.15 and changes its body into the convertible form of the Kfz.21 staff car.
The German army listed the Kfz.21 as a car for carrying command personnel. It shared its chassis with further versions of the same family; the difference lay above all in the body: an open tub with a folding roof and an arrangement of seats for more passengers. In a diorama it therefore looks quite different from a canvas-covered signals car. The floor, the seats, the crew and the gear set aside are visible, which gives a scene a depth that a closed body never offers.
First compare the parts dry with the basic kit and only then mark in pencil where you will divide the original body. Make the cut along a ruler and in small steps; taking away is always possible, adding material back is worse. Because the interior will be exposed, it pays off to paint the floor and the seats before you seat the body for good. Choose the degree of dusting according to the scene you are building: a gleaming car in front of a headquarters will take different treatment from a machine returning from a field track.
