A large injection-molded plastic kit of the German StuG III assault gun in the Ausf.G version of 1943 production, made by Trumpeter in the impressive 1:16 scale. The set contains a great many parts, a well-worked lower and upper hull and a detailed running gear, so what comes out of the box is a large model over 40 cm long.
The Sturmgeschütz III was the most numerously produced German tracked combat vehicle of the Second World War. It was created as infantry support on the chassis of the Panzer III tank, but thanks to its low silhouette and its good gun it was increasingly used as a tank destroyer. The late-war Ausf.G version carried a long 75 mm gun and heavier armor protection.
Finish the running gear and the interior before you close up the hull, because in a large scale the interior is on view. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement, lay down a base coat before painting and build the camouflage up in layers with an airbrush. The large surface invites weathering with washes and pigments for mud and dust effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
