Brass projectiles of 88 mm caliber in 1:35 scale for a model of the Tiger II heavy tank. Metal ammunition for the open spaces of the fighting vehicle and for a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Tiger II heavy tank, known in modeling speech by the nickname King Tiger, was among the most heavily armed German vehicles of the Second World War. Its main weapon was an 88 mm gun, for which the crew carried rounds stowed in the hull and in the rear of the turret. It is exactly this ammunition that is visible on models as soon as the builder opens the hatches or sets the vehicle into a scene with resupply.
These are brass projectiles of 88 mm caliber in 1:35 scale. Metal has two advantages over plastic: it holds a sharp edge and a small shape, and once polished it resembles the metal surface of a real round in itself. The set suits both the ammunition stowage inside a vehicle and free placement in a scene beside it.
Wash and degrease the metal parts before work, as neither glue nor paint holds on a greasy surface. They are glued with cyanoacrylate, since polystyrene cement has no effect on brass. If you want to keep the metallic sheen of a projectile, paint only the part that was painted on real ammunition and lead the transition with a sharp edge. A painted surface needs a primer first, otherwise the layer flakes off during handling. Fine weathering with a dark enamel line picks out the shape and settles the metal into the overall shade of the vehicle.
The set suits modelers who are building a Tiger II with an open superstructure, a diorama with resupply, or who simply want to replace plastic ammunition with something stronger in metal. The vehicle model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
