3D decal interior for the Kübelwagen Type 82 (1:35, Quinta Studio)

This is NOT a model but a colored relief decal on a backing decal paper for detailing the interior of the German Kübelwagen Type 82 off-road vehicle in 1:35 scale. It takes the place of laborious painting and photo-etched parts. According to the product name it is intended for the Meng kit, specifically VS-015.

What a 3D decal is

It is a printed element with raised, full-color detail: the instrument panel, the side trim, the grab handles, the straps and the upholstery of the seats. It has no adhesive layer of its own: after a short soak it slides off the paper and holds on a gloss clear coat.

The real subject

The Kübelwagen Type 82 was a light multipurpose military car of the Wehrmacht based on the design of the people's car, deployed on all the fronts of the Second World War.

Use

• Fit the interior before closing the body up and go over the surface underneath with a gloss clear coat
• Cut the elements out, soak them for about fifteen seconds in lukewarm water and slide them off the backing paper
• Do not use a decal softener or a fixer, as their chemicals attack the printed resin
