The fifth part of the Lebanese line in 1:35 scale follows on from the previous set of generic unit insignia and adds more. Anyone building several vehicles from one battlefield will appreciate being able to reach for markings that do not repeat and that tell one machine from another.
In Lebanon during the 1970s and 1980s hardware of the most varied origin moved side by side, from Western armored personnel carriers to Soviet tanks, and the units took it over, modified it and re-marked it. A vehicle of the same type can therefore look different every time on a modeling table without a single kit part changing. Sets aimed at unit insignia are crucial for builds like these, because without them a model stays indeterminate.
Markings on long-used hardware tend to be faded, painted over or partly worn away, and a freshly laid decal beside weathered paint looks far too new. A light filter or a thin layer of heavily thinned base color drawn over the finished design will help to bring the two together. Work on a gloss base, flatten the model down once it has dried and only then add dust and traces of use. Compare the recommended products with the instructions from the maker of the set in advance.
