Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Hobby Boss. The subject is the Leopard C2, the Canadian version of the Leopard 1 main battle tank. The model captures exactly that national version: it differs from the basic type and from other upgrades in the form of the turret and in its equipment, so watch for the C2 designation when choosing.
The Leopard 1 is a German main battle tank with a 105 mm gun, laid out with the emphasis on mobility and simple maintenance. The Canadian army took the type into service and later put it through an upgrade to the C2 standard, whose main element was a new turret with strengthened protection and a modernized fire control system. Vehicles in that form served with Canadian units as well as on missions abroad, where they were fitted with additional protective items according to the particular deployment.
Assemble and paint the running gear before you close the sides of the hull up and fit the skirts. Build the turret and the hull separately; that will make painting a two-color or three-color scheme easier as well. Glue the protective skirts and the bins on the turret on only after the base coat, otherwise it is hard to spray underneath them. For weathering use a dark wash into the seams, chipping of the edges with a dry brush and dust pigments on the lower part of the hull and on the tracks. The rubber on the road wheel tires looks better in a dark gray shade than in pure black.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
