The set is not a standalone model but an accessory meant to be fitted to a matching plastic kit of the German Leopard 1 main battle tank in the A3 and A4 versions. The fine metal parts replace the coarser plastic elements.
The Meng kit will serve as the base; it is bought separately.
The Leopard 1 is a German main battle tank that entered service in the 1960s. The A3 and A4 versions brought a new welded turret of angular shape with spaced armor. The vehicle is armed with the proven 105 mm gun and served in many European armies.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife and make the bends along the etched score lines with a bending tool. Use super glue to bond the metal, and before painting degrease it and go over it with a primer for metal. The hull sides, the engine grilles and the tie-down loops show at their best once brought out with a wash and dust pigments.
This is an add-on photo-etched set. The base plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
