The set contains photo-etched parts for detailing the M109A2 self-propelled howitzer in 1:35 scale. It is an aftermarket detail set from Eduard, not a kit in its own right. The photo-etch replaces simplified plastic elements such as grilles, brackets, tie-down fittings, tool boxes and small items of turret and hull equipment.
The M109 is an American tracked 155 mm self-propelled howitzer, one of the most widely used artillery platforms of Western armies. The A2 version brought a longer barrel and a series of changes that raised the range and the reliability. The set suits a build of this version of the self-propelled gun.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp knife and form the bends with a photo-etch bending tool. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). With tracked vehicles, assemble and paint the running gear before closing up the hull, and pay attention to weathering with a wash and pigments for dust and mud effects.
