This accessory from RYE FIELD MODEL extends a model of the American main battle tank with its internal fittings. It is not a tank kit but a set that you build into a model you already have.
The Abrams is among the most widespread Western battle tanks of recent decades and its inside is a rewarding subject for modelers. The crew compartment, the ammunition stowage and the stations of the gunner and the loader are full of technical detail that nobody will see on a closed-up model. An interior set makes sense above all when you are planning an open hatch, a turret displayed separately on a base, or a cutaway in the hull. On the competition table an opened-up machine is a discipline of its own, because a judge is also interested in what is hidden inside.
Plan your work in advance. The inside has to be painted and weathered before you close up the hull, otherwise you will not reach it again. The light interior shades take a fine accent on the edges and careful dirtying in the places where the crew moves. Dry fit to check whether the turret will still rotate and the hatches close once everything is installed. If you want the model to be presentable from every side, think through in advance how the cutaway or the opened section will be held in place.
