An injection-molded plastic model of the American M915 Gun Truck in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The subject is the M915 road tractor converted into an armored escort vehicle for protecting supply convoys. The kit includes a detailed cab, chassis, engine bay and an armored fighting body with room for the weapon crew.
The M915 is an American heavy road tractor originally built for long-distance haulage of semi-trailers. During service in Iraq, crews armored some of these vehicles improvising and fitted them with weapons in order to protect logistic convoys against ambushes on long supply routes. The typical armament was a .50 caliber heavy machine gun (M2) on the roof of the fighting compartment, which provided fire support against ambushes.
On military vehicles, assemble and paint the chassis, the engine and the interior of the cab before you close the bodywork. Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement and any photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer and spray the colors with an airbrush in thin coats; bring the armor and the body to life with a wash into the recesses and with dust pigments for the effect of a dusty vehicle from a desert setting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
