The Mark 2 and the experience of the Lebanese roads

The second series of the Israeli tank came into being directly out of the findings of 1982. Stronger armor on the turret was added, a different arrangement of the ammunition supply, an altered transmission and later also modular armor on the sides, which gave the vehicle its well known angular silhouette. The machine served for a long time and many examples ended their running days with a chassis properly marked by use: the rubber tore off the tires against the edges of stones and concrete panels, so the vehicle went on driving on the bare disk. It is not an exception that somebody made up for effect, but the ordinary state of machines in the field.

The contents of the set of four

In the package are four complete wheels of pressed steel in the form in which the rubber tire is missing. The set therefore does not serve to change the whole chassis, but so that part of the wheels look worn. The mounting is worked out for Takom kits in 1:35, and the diameter and the depth of the hub correspond to the pins you will find on your chassis.

How to work with the parts

Distribute the damaged wheels asymmetrically, differently on one side than on the other, otherwise the result looks artificial. On the bare disk it moreover pays to sand the edges through gently and to rub a metallic pigment on, because it is just there that the track rubs while driving.

Who the set is useful for

It will be appreciated by the builder preparing a vehicle from long patrol service on the northern border, and by everyone who prefers a running gear with a story of its own to a row of perfectly identical parts. It will also serve well as a supplement to a full set of tires for the chassis, when you want a couple of pieces worn by use among the new wheels.
