An injection-molded plastic kit of the Israeli main battle tank Merkava Mk.2 in 1:35 scale from Border Model. The model offers complete internal fittings for both the hull and the turret, workable tracks, metal-sprung running gear, photo-etched parts and hatches that can be built open or closed. The package contains markings for three options.
The Merkava is a family of Israeli tanks whose hallmark is the engine mounted at the front, giving the crew extra protection, and a rear entrance usable for carrying troops or casualties. The Mk.2 version was an improvement on the original type: it was given add-on turret armor, a reworked fire control system and a 60 mm mortar moved inside the turret. The main armament is a 105 mm gun.
On a model with a full interior, finish and paint the inside of the hull and the turret before you close them; once assembled you will no longer see many of the details. Assemble and paint the running gear and the workable tracks separately. Apply a primer and spray with an airbrush; the sand shade of the Israeli desert comes alive with dust pigments and washes that bring out the rivets and recesses. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
