A set of accessories from Gecko Models in 1:35 scale, focused on modern British carrying cans of twenty liter capacity, both for fuel and for water. It is not a vehicle model, but accessories with which equipment, a diorama or a store scene is completed. The number of pieces in the package and the exact composition of the set are given on the box.
Cans are among the small things most often seen on military vehicles. A vehicle with a few cans secured at the rear or on the fenders looks lived-in and used at once, an effect that cannot be achieved with a bare model. Modern British cans differ in both shape and closure from the older German and American types, so reaching for the right version pays off if you are building a particular army and period. Distinguishing containers for fuel and for water also makes it possible to create a convincing composition of the load.
Cut the parts off the sprues with nippers, sand the parting lines down and glue them with a thin cement for plastic. It pays to paint the cans separately from the vehicle and to fit them only onto the finished model, as otherwise you will not reach them with a brush. Use primer, spray the base shade with an airbrush and suggest the difference between individual pieces with a fine difference in shade, so that the group does not look as if cast in one piece. Realism is added by a dark wash around the closures and the pressed rims, small scuffs on the edges and dust pigments at the bottom.
