An E.T. Model photo-etched detail set in 1:35 for the modern Boxer wheeled armored vehicle. A metal addition to a kit, not a model in its own right.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a photo-etched detail set in thin metal sheet, that is an addition to a plastic kit of the Boxer wheeled armored vehicle in 1:35 scale, and not the model itself. Modern equipment is demanding in terms of detail: it has a quantity of gratings, grilles, covers, grab handles, steps and brackets that in reality are made of thin sheet or rod. Injection-molded plastic necessarily simplifies them, whereas photo-etch can render them in a realistic thickness.
The Boxer is a modern wheeled armored vehicle with all-wheel drive, which came out of an international program led by Germany and the Netherlands. Its main strength is its modular concept: a common drive module can be joined with interchangeable mission modules for different tasks, from carrying infantry to ambulance and command versions. The vehicle puts the emphasis on both ballistic and mine protection for the crew and today serves with several armies, which offers a wide range of markings and camouflage schemes.
Cut the parts off with a scalpel or photo-etch scissors and sand the edge with a fine file. Make the bends in a bending tool, and on small brackets tweezers with smooth jaws help. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a minimal amount. Degrease the metal before painting and give it a base coat for metal. Modern vehicles look best cleaner than Second World War equipment: a discreet wash in the recesses, a fine emphasis of the edges and light dust on the lower surfaces and the wheels are enough.
The package contains only photo-etched parts. The base kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
