The set does not hold a model of the vehicle; it reckons with a kit already bought. It is precisely on modern equipment with a quantity of grilles, sheet covers and grab handles that the gain from photo-etched parts is clearly visible. The set is intended for the Panda PH35032 kit.
The MaxxPro belongs to the MRAP category, that is wheeled armored vehicles designed with the emphasis on resistance to mines and improvised devices. A characteristic feature is the V-shaped hull, which deflects the blast wave away from the crew compartment. The Dash version is a shortened and lighter variant with better agility in the field, and the DXM designation goes with a modified chassis with independent wheel suspension. Vehicles of this line served in American military deployment over the past two decades as a transport and reconnaissance means.
With photo-etched parts it is often the painting rather than the gluing that fails. Brass is protected from production by a thin preservative layer and carries fingerprints, on which paint does not hold. So before spraying, wash the parts in warm water with detergent, rinse them and let them dry freely, and handle them from then on only with tweezers or in gloves. A thin layer of a base meant for metal follows, sprayed ideally, not brushed. Only then comes the covering shade. On modern equipment in a light sand or olive tone the base is all the more important, because the surface gets touched a great deal during handling.
The set is an accessory, not a model. It does not hold the kit of the vehicle, glue or paints.
