A resin figure set in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Bravo 6 with American soldiers from the period of the Second World War as its subject. The name refers to an ordinary situation with eating in the field, that is to a genre, quiet scene; it is not a designation of a unit. The set is an accessory for dioramas and display cases, not a kit of equipment. It came out in 2018.
The castings are in hard modeling resin, which holds sharper detail than injection-molded plastic - the folds of the field jacket, the straps, the belt and the small equipment. The quiet pose suits scenes that are not about combat but about everyday routine: by a vehicle, at a field kitchen, in the corner of a diorama with a building. At the same time the figures serve as a feature of scale that shows the viewer the real size of the equipment beside them.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the release agent from the mold is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutter and level the surfaces with a file; sand resin wet and with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a thin primer before painting, then build the shades up from a darker base toward lighter edges and the skin by layering. Pick the folds out with a wash and unify the surface with a matte varnish. Small accessories, such as tin utensils and cans, will take a light metallic cast and spot highlighting with a dry brush.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
