1:35 Navy Seals big set

The most extensive box of the series

An expanded set of resin figures in contemporary kit from the Czech brand Black Dog. Against both the individual figures and the smaller sets of the same line it is the largest box, offering the material for a whole scene at once. How many figures it holds is not given in the name, but the designation implies that it is intended as the peak of the series.

When to reach for the big box

A large group makes sense where the scene is to tell a story: a muster before an action, a move around a vehicle, work with equipment on a shore. It pays to sketch a plan in advance and decide which figures will be sharply lit in the foreground and which will stay in the second plane. You do not have to use all the castings at once; keep some in reserve for a later scene.

From casting to finished figure

The procedure is the same as with other resin figures, only it is repeated many times: a washing bath, removing the casting blocks, leveling the faces and checking the seams against the light. Protect your airways, as resin dust does not belong in the lungs. Make the joints with cyanoacrylate and fill small gaps with putty. Start the painting with the faces; if they do not come off, the rest of the figure will not save them.
