An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Dragon. The model captures one of the prototypes of the German multi-turret tank designated Neubaufahrzeug. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted and is intended for modelers with basic experience of building armored hardware.
The Neubaufahrzeug was an experimental heavy tank developed in Germany in the first half of the 1930s. Only five vehicles were built, in two forms that differ in the main turret: the first two machines received a turret of Rheinmetall design with guns of 7.5 cm and 3.7 cm caliber placed one above the other, and the remaining three a turret of Krupp design, where both barrels are side by side. The vehicle was completed by two small machine gun turrets at the front and the rear. The multi-turret tank concept did not prove itself in practice; the machines were tall, heavy and complicated to handle, and the series never went into production. The vehicles served mainly for trials and training, and only a small number saw action in 1940.
With a multi-turret vehicle it pays to work in subassemblies: finish the hull and the running gear first, and only then the individual turrets. Glue the wheels and the suspension on and let them cure thoroughly before you lay the tracks on the model; otherwise the hull will warp. Do not glue the turrets fast but leave them free to rotate; that makes both the painting and the later photographing of the model easier. After the base color use a dark wash into the recesses and pigments on the lower part of the hull and the running gear, where in reality the most dust and mud collect.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
