A diorama accessory from the Polish manufacturer Eureka XXL, cast in resin. It reproduces a period hand water pump of the kind that stood on village greens, in yards and in the streets of European towns and villages. It consists of several resin parts and serves to enliven a scene; it is not a model of hardware.
Hand water pumps were entirely common in European towns as well as in the countryside, and they belong almost as a matter of course to many dioramas with a civilian tone. The accessory gives a scene an authentic period detail and a striking point of reference.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut the casting blocks away and glue them with cyanoacrylate. You will support the metallic look of the pump with a dark base coat, drybrushing and a suggestion of corrosion; protect your airways when sanding resin.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints and glue are not included in the package.
