Screw heads of cone shape with a star recess, 0.9 mm in diameter, a medium to coarser step for the loaded joints of a scaled-down model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The size suits wherever a fine head already looks too timid and there is still no need to reach for the top of the line. The cone under the head makes sure the part does not stand above the surface more than it has to once fitted, and the star recess stays distinct even after two coats of varnish.
On a motorcycle this means the sprocket carrier, the chain guard, the attachment of the brake caliper to the fork or the screws that hold the footpeg bracket. Car modelers reach for this diameter at the wheel arches and at the mounting of underbody covers, where the real subject likewise has countersunk joints.
The range goes up in tenths of a millimeter, so from this size only three steps are left to the end. Anyone who wants the whole machine fitted out faithfully usually picks two or three neighboring sizes and divides them according to the load on the individual joints; one universal size gives away on a scaled-down model that nobody took time over the choice. A photograph of the real machine usually tells more than the kit instructions, because it captures even the joints the injection mold left out or merely suggested with a shallow engraving.
