A photo-etched set for refining a model of the German Panther Ausf.A tank in 1:35 scale. It replaces thick plastic parts with thin metal ones.
Responsibility details are not available.
Photo-etched parts are made from thin metal sheet, so they can do what injected plastic cannot: be genuinely thin. Where a plastic part is a few tenths of a millimeter thick for technological reasons, photo-etching gives a thickness correct to scale. On a tank model this shows most on parts that on the real vehicle have the form of sheet metal or mesh. The set is intended for a model of the Panther Ausf.A tank in 1:35 scale; which kit it is cut for is stated by the maker on the package and in the instructions, because photo-etched parts are made to the shape of a particular model.
The Panther was a German medium tank of the Second World War with sloped armor and a long 75 mm gun with a barrel length of 70 calibers (L/70). The Ausf.A version is the second production variant, recognizable among other things by the cast commander's cupola and the ball mounting of the machine gun in the front plate of the hull.
Cut the part from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface; do not snap it off. Sand or file away the remains of the tab. Make the bends along the score line, best in a bender or between two metal rulers, and bend in one movement. Metal is bonded with super glue or soldered. Before painting, degrease the parts and coat them with a base color for metal; without it, paint does not hold on the smooth surface.
The tank model, glue, paints and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
