A set of photo-etched parts for a model of the German Panther Ausf.A tank in 1:35 scale. It replaces thick injection-molded parts with thin metal in a scale thickness.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Panther was a German medium tank of the Second World War, which combined steeply sloped armor with a long gun of 75 mm caliber and running gear on interleaved road wheels. The Ausf.A version comes from the middle part of production, and its distinguishing marks are the cast commander's cupola and the ball mount of the hull machine gun. On a model the striking features are above all the fenders, the grilles over the engine compartment and the small tool clips, that is exactly those parts that cannot be made thin enough in injection-molded plastic.
The set holds photo-etched parts for a model of the Panther Ausf.A in 1:35 scale. Photo-etched metal is a thin sheet, so a part on the model matches the scale thickness of the material and the edges stay sharp. The make-up of the parts and their placement is given by the manufacturer in the enclosed instructions.
Cut the part from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with pliers; pliers ripple the edge. Make the bends over the edge of a bending tool, or at least over a steel ruler, and in a single movement, so that the sheet does not fatigue at the place of the bend. They are glued with super glue applied in a small amount, because a photo-etched part has nowhere to shed the excess. Before painting, wash and degrease the metal and use a primer meant for metal, otherwise the paint does not hold on the smooth surface and rubs off during handling.
This is an add-on set for building a model. Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
