An injection-molded plastic kit of the command version of the German Pz.Kpfw. II light tank, the Panzerbefehlswagen II Ausf. a2 rendition, in 1:35 scale from the maker IBG Models. The model comes from the same new mold as the standard Ausf. a2, supplemented with the elements of a command vehicle. The package usually holds photo-etched and clear parts, decals and individual track links that click together. Check the particular contents against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Pz.Kpfw. II was a German light tank from the beginning of the Second World War, widely committed in the first campaigns. The command version (Panzerbefehlswagen) was adapted for directing a unit: it carried extended signals and radio equipment for the commander in exchange for part of the fighting equipment. The early a series rendition covered pre-production and trial vehicles with which Germany tested the concept of a light tank before mass production got under way.
Cut the parts off the sprues and glue them with a thin modeling cement for plastic; bond the fine photo-etch with super glue. Assemble and paint the running gear and the individual track links before the hull is finished. Lay down a primer and cover with an airbrush; early German tanks usually wore dark gray. Bring out the panel lines with a wash and add fine dust pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
