F4U Corsair: a set of wheels with a cross tread 1:48 is a resin accessory to a kit you have already bought, not an airplane model. It replaces the main landing gear wheels with tires with a cross tread pattern.
Responsibility details are not available.
A supplementary set from the Czech maker Brengun for modelers who are building a Corsair in 1:48 scale and want to replace the wheels from the box. It is not an airplane kit: the set holds the wheels alone, cast in resin, and assumes that you already have the base model.
The cross tread pattern is one of several types of tire that appeared on Corsairs. It is precisely by the tread pattern that a model can be matched to a particular machine in a period photograph, so replacing the wheels is not only about the sharpness of the rendering but also about fidelity to the chosen subject. At the same time a resin casting rids a model of the parting line, which on injected wheels runs exactly across the middle of the tread and whose sanding out always damages the pattern.
Washing comes first: warm water, a drop of dish soap, a soft brush. Release agent from the mold is invisible, but paint cracks under it reliably. Cut the casting block off with a saw or a cutting disc and sand the surface wet; resin dust must not be inhaled. If you want to suggest load, you can sand the contact patch slightly flat, working in small steps and offering the model up as you go so that it stays at the right height. It is glued with super glue; after the primer come a dark gray tire and a differentiated shade for the hub.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a kit. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
