1:35 Printed Accessories: American Newspapers

American newspapers for dioramas in 1:35 scale

The set 1:35 Printed Accessories: American Newspapers belongs to the range of printed diorama accessories from RT-Diorama. It is not a model and not a kit but a set of small printed subjects of newspapers reduced to 1:35 scale. It comes into its own as an accessory of an interior, as an object in the hands of a figure or as a small thing scattered about a scene, which turns a set piece into a lived-in place.

What the accessory is suited to

Newspapers are among the details a viewer does not take in first, but without which a scene comes across as empty. An American subject will go well with scenes with equipment and figures from the western front and from later periods, as well as with rear areas, command posts, workshops and civilian interiors. A few pieces are enough to make a table, a bunk or the seat of a vehicle look used.

Usage tips

• Separate the individual sheets with a sharp blade; a small format is easily crumpled.
• A folded or rolled-up sheet looks more believable than a flat patch.
• On the ground fit the subject lightly to the shape of the terrain.
• Yellowed edges and light dirtying match ordinarily used print.
• A small heap of several pieces will serve as a base under tools or as the filling of a crate.

Who the accessory is for

• Builders of dioramas and vignettes in 1:35 scale.
• Modelers who build interiors and the rear areas of units.
• Those looking for small props for figure scenes.
• Anyone who wants believable clutter in a scene.
