A modern injection-molded plastic kit of the German Panzer III medium tank in the Ausf.J version in 1:35 scale from Rye Field Model (RFM). It is a modern tooling with a high level of detail and individual track links; RFM offers this subject in variants including a form with a full interior. The exact make-up of this particular box is stated by the manufacturer.
The Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.J was one of the main combat versions of the Panzer III and was built in large numbers. Compared with earlier versions it had thicker frontal armor (50 mm) and was armed with a 50 mm anti-tank gun (the 5 cm KwK 38 L/42, and on later examples the longer 5 cm KwK 39 L/60). The tank was the backbone of German armored forces in the early and middle stages of the Second World War and was committed on the Eastern Front and in North Africa alike.
Finish and paint the running gear and any interior before closing the hull. Assemble and paint the individual track links separately. Primer and an airbrush are recommended; build the patina according to the service - mud effects and rust for the Eastern Front, sand schemes and dry dust for Africa. Washes will pick out the rivets and the details, and pigments will finish the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
