A replacement barrel of the Rheinmetall 120 mm gun for a model of the Leopard 2A5 tank in 1:35.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Leopard 2A5 is a German main battle tank that can be told from the older versions of the Leopard 2 by the sloped add-on armor on the front of the turret. The main weapon is the Rheinmetall 120 mm smoothbore gun. On a model the barrel is the most exposed part: it is long, thin and projects the most, so every inaccuracy shows on it sooner than anywhere else.
A replacement barrel for a model of the Leopard 2A5 in 1:35 that replaces the barrel supplied with the kit. The muzzle is worked out to depth and the part is straight along its whole length. The set is prepared for the 2A5 version in particular; on the later versions of the Leopard 2 the barrel differs and a substitution would not be accurate. The exact extent of the delivery and any supplementary parts are stated in the manufacturer's description.
Cut the excess material off a little way from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder carefully, so that the shape of the mating surface is preserved. Wash and degrease the part before gluing. The part is not of polystyrene, so cement for plastic models does not hold on it; use super glue in a small amount. Check the seating from above as well as from the side; the barrel has to be on the axis of the turret. Start the painting with a base coat suitable for the material in question, or the paint will slide off the smooth surface.
The tank kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
