1:35 AS1729 antenna set for the K131, the single package from DEF Model replaces a coarse plastic part with a precise part for one vehicle. It is not a model of the vehicle but an accessory for its equipment.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory set of an antenna base of the AS1729 type for the South Korean light utility vehicle K131 in the variant with single contents, that is for one vehicle. Anyone building two cars will reach for the double package of the same set, which has twice the contents. The antenna is among the parts where a plastic kit is most vulnerable: an injection-molded rod has to be thicker because of the mold, it bends and it carries a parting line along its whole length. A precise replacement part is slender and straight, and it shows in the silhouette of the model at once.
The AS1729 is a vehicle antenna base for radio sets working in the very high frequency band. It consists of a flexible foot, which protects the antenna while driving over rough ground and when catching on an obstacle, and a rod fitted from above. The base is mounted on the rear part of the body or on a fender and overhangs the outline of the vehicle, so it is among the most conspicuous elements of its appearance. On modern military vehicles this type is widespread across vehicles.
Sets of this kind tend to be turned from metal, or they combine a metal rod with a cast foot. With metal parts, degrease the surface before gluing and roughen it slightly, so that both glue and paint take hold; they are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. If the set contains resin parts, wash them in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release from the mold, cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and level the surface with abrasive paper used wet, with protection for your airways. Apply a primer meant for smooth surfaces before painting. Spray the rod in a thin coat of matte black or dark green, because a heavy coat would take away the slenderness the set is bought for.
This is an accessory set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
