This is a resin detail set in 1:35 scale from PANZER ART. It is not a vehicle model but a set of accessories for the German Sd.Kfz 251 Ausf. D armored half-track. The castings represent rolled-up canvas covers of the kind that crews carried as part of their equipment and stowage.
The Sd.Kfz 251 was the most widely used German armored half-track of the Second World War; the Ausf. D version was a simplified late production variant with a welded hull. Rolled covers and stowage on the hull are a rewarding detail that gives a vehicle a lived-in, period look.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts and cut off the casting blocks. Bond the resin with super glue. Canvas is best captured in earthy shades with drybrushing on the edges of the folds and a wash in the shadows; a light highlight brings the ropes and straps to life.
The detail set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
