1:35 Round The Corner (2) U.S.M.C

Round The Corner (2) U.S.M.C. 1:35 - Bravo 6 figures

The second volume of the figure series from the brand Bravo 6 devoted to the US Marine Corps, cast in resin in 1:35 scale. It is a figure set, not a kit of equipment. The castings are supplied unassembled and unpainted and their working differs from injection-molded plastic, so the set is suitable rather for experienced modelers.

Subject and workmanship

The series captures Marines advancing round the corner of a building, that is a situation from combat in built-up terrain. This volume follows on from the first with further stances, so the two sets can be set into a single scene and a continuous group created that way. The uniform and the carried kit match the period of the war in Vietnam - a field blouse, load-bearing straps with pouches and a helmet with a cloth cover. The modeling of the folds of the cloth and of the small details of the kit is fine and the surface of the casting calls for only minimal cleaning.

Building and painting tips

Before building, wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the release agent from the mold disappears. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and never break them away. It is glued with cyanoacrylate super glue; reinforce the thin joints, mainly at the arms, with a short pin of wire. Sand resin wet and with respiratory protection. After a thin primer the figures take acrylics well, and oil paints or a fine wash suit the shadows and the transitions. If you are building a scene with a building, try the placement of the figures out dry first.
