This resin accessory depicts the added sand armor for the American medium tank M4A3 Sherman with the late hull. It is not a tank kit but a set of castings of the kind that were fixed to the hull as an improvised protective layer. The accessory is intended for models of this Sherman in 1:35 scale.
In the field, Sherman crews strengthened the protection of the hull with extra plates, with concrete or with bags. Sand armor made up a further layer against armor-piercing ammunition and became a prominent recognition feature on a number of vehicles. The castings faithfully follow the shape of the plates and the surface, and they seat accurately on the corresponding hull.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut the casting blocks away and clean the seating surfaces up with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Try the joints dry before gluing, then unify the surface with the hull using paint and weathering.
